Operationally rigorous traditions ask different questions: What is the exact cost structure of this process? Where does variance occur, and why? What is the minimum acceptable margin before this business unit ceases to justify its capital allocation?
Structural resilience over growth velocity. In high-burn environments, a company can fail spectacularly and be considered a learning experience. In capital-intensive industries, a single catastrophic failure—a manufacturing defect, a regulatory violation, a mismanaged acquisition—can eliminate decades of accumulated value. Resilience is not a conservative instinct; it is a structural requirement.
